Facilitating optometrists to get involved in the diagnosis and monitoring of AMD to reduce the risks of people developing this debilitating condition, this one-day update aims to give delegates the tools they need to recognise cases that warrant onward referral.

The course takes place in the beautiful and historic university city of Cambridge. The venue is the new Howard Theatre at Downing College. The meeting is followed by the international symposium  on macular carotenoids that takes place in the same venue on 13-15 July 2011:  Macular Carotenoids & AMD

Course fee: £200 +VAT inclusive of lunch and refreshments.

Why should you attend?

Optometrists need to be aware of the latest developments in the detection, treatment and monitoring of AMD. This course will devote equal time to both early and late AMD and will cover definition and grading of AMD, epidemiology and risk factors, and preventive strategies. It will examine new technologies for detecting and monitoring AMD and look at onward referrals as well as low vision aids, blind registration and social services involvement.

 

AMD for optometrists is set in the beautiful and historic university city of Cambridge – famous for King’s College Chapel and punting on the River Cam. .
