Booking & fees

Delegate fees:  Standard £470.00  Earlybird (before February 28, 2011) £320.00  All fees exclude VAT.

Prices are per person and include

  • full scientific programme
  • drinks reception on Tuesday 12th July
  • morning refreshments, sandwich lunch and afternoon tea on Wednesday 13th July
  • morning refreshments, sandwich lunch and afternoon tea on Thursday 14th July
  • morning refreshments and sandwich lunch on Friday 15th July

The conference dinner, with champagne reception and entertainment will be held in Downing College on Thursday 14th July.  The fee for accommodation in Downing College (see below) includes a ticket for the conference dinner. For those choosing not to stay in Downing College tickets for the dinner are available at £52.00, excluding VAT, and can be paid for at the same time as paying your delegate fees.

Accommodation in Downing College can be booked and paid for at the same time as paying your delegate fees.  You may also make your own accommodation arrangements outside of the College. See below for some useful links.

CANCELLATION TERMS: Cancellations made before 28th February 2011 will be subject to an administration charge of 25%. Cancellations made between 1st March and 31st May 2011 will be subject to an administration charge of 50% of the fee. No refunds will be given on cancellations received on or after 1st June 2011.

Accommodation

The accommodation in Downing College is available at two price points.

The Standard en suite bedrooms offer an en suite shower room and quality furnishings. Rooms are comfortable and are located in the Howard Court and the older staircases. The Superior en suite bedrooms have been furnished to hotel standard and boast a private bathroom with toiletries, superior furnishings, a luxury welcome tray and TV facilities.

All of the bedrooms are situated in various locations around the domus and are provided with internet access, bed linen, towels and toiletries, coffee and tea making facilities, telephone and are serviced daily. A large proportion of the bedrooms can accommodate twin beds, and accessible rooms are available upon request.

The accommodation fees at Downing College include from the evening of Tuesday 12th July to the close of the Conference on Friday 15th July the following items:

  • the conference dinner on Thursday 14th July

It is possible to book accommodation in Downing College for the night of Friday 15 July. This may useful especially for those travelling to Krakow for the 16th International Carotenoid Conference.  Flights to Krakow from Luton and Stansted airports leave in the morning only.

Accommodation fees for three nights' (12 - 15 July) or four nights' (12 - 16 July) stay in Downing College: All fees exclude VAT and  include the conference dinner on Thursday 14th July.

ACCOMPANYING PERSONS: Accompanying persons not attending the conference sessions are welcome and will not be charged a conference fee.  The charges for twin rooms in Downing College include breakfasts, evening meals and conference dinners for two people.

CHILDREN UNDER 16 YEARS: Children under the age of 16 are not allowed to stay in Downing College accommodation.
